Flagstaff, Arizona. Established in 1955 a few miles west of Flagstaff, Arizona, the Flagstaff station is the US Naval Observatory’s dark-sky site for optical and near-infrared astronomy. There are presently two USNO sites in the Flagstaff area: this station and the Navy Prototype Optical Interferometer, located some 15 miles south of the city. Source: USNO.

Tucson, Arizona. The Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail is a 1,210-mile National Park Service unit in the United States National Historic Trail and National Millennium Trail programs. The trail route extends from Nogales on the U.S.-Mexico border in Arizona, through the California desert and coastal areas in Southern California and the Central Coast region to San Francisco.
